Ajeet's new single, Healing Song, amidst her battle with stage 4 endometriosis is an offering of music as a tool for deep healing. "This song invokes the moments when life asks us to heal. In my own life these moments have come with illness, grief, heartbreak, and times of big transition. I know I'm not alone, as every life has its shadowy patches and tests for the heart. At times it can feel that life is leading somewhere completely unknown where all our comforts and safety drops away and life asks for trust. To me the voice in this song is the spirit of life itself, gently and playfully inviting the listener to follow into the unknown, the mysterious, the place of healing. "These first words "We have come to heal" came to me like an openness at the beginning of a ceremony. In this case, I feel that life itself is the ceremony we are setting an intention for."I woke up with this song fully formed and in my head one day. The song was finished and recorded that same day. Later the instrumentation was added while I went through my own big healing process, and I mixed it from my bed as I recovered. This song has been my companion and a place to rest my prayer. My own process has been one of healing after major surgery, but within that there have been deep layers of exploration and also letting go. I know that each of our healing processes are ongoing and take many unique forms, and I feel that collective journey in my own relationship with this song."To me "Healing Song" is a companion and comforting presence when we stand at the edge, in the darkness, facing the unknowns and the enormous heartbreaks life can bring. It is the openness to continue. It is gentle, playful, and vibrantly full of life. It celebrates the way we love, lose and hold one another through the journey. For me the words and melody also speak to the much smaller and gentler moments of healing; a long deep breath, a look into your lover's eyes, the feeling of holding a sleeping child, soft breath on skin. The song asks us to follow, to go deeper, and never to shy away from life's doorways, whether they are playful and light or deep and unnerving. In this song is an inherent trust in life's swaying way and a willingness to travel through the spaces of healing in all their forms and colors." - Ajeet Listen:
