Song of the Stars

On Song of the Stars, the fourth release from Mirabai Ceiba’s upcoming 20th anniversary album Reimagining, Nessi Gomes’ haunting and otherworldly voice opens a doorway to the spirit world. This reimagined version of one of their most beloved tracks takes you on a journey through the raw beauty of life and the mysterious realms beyond.

 

Nessi Gomes joined Mirabai Ceiba and a diverse ensemble of singers and musicians, weaving a tapestry of sound that transcends the self. The harp, guitar, charango, and cello rest on a surprising and lush bed of synthesizers, B3 organ, Prophet 05, and glockenspiel, creating a mesmerizing blend of organic and electronic elements. Supported by a beautiful choir, this piece transports listeners into a mystical, haunting experience through the realms of the seen and unseen.

Produced by Markus Sieber, he guided the song on an expansive journey towards the inner wounds as a portal of connection with the mystery of life and the cosmos. He experienced the delicate, broken yet powerful textures of Nessi’s voice becoming the earth, the pain, the grief, the joy, and the search of a human.  In contrast were the angelic sweet voices of the choir and the gentle warm spirit of Angelika’s voice, which travels to the stars.
