SLÁNÚ

Three years in the making, Slánú marks a new chapter in Ajeet’s music, shaped by the wild Atlantic coast of Ireland, the intimacy of home, and a period of profound personal change.

Recorded slowly in her home studio in western Ireland, the album emerged alongside Ajeet’s recovery from three major surgeries for severe endometriosis. Through uncertainty and healing, music became a place of refuge and renewed possibility. The Irish word Slánú, meaning healing, came to embody the journey.

Ajeet brings her Irish folk roots into a rich, contemporary sound, weaving expressive vocals, layered guitars, cello, harp, and global influences into songs that feel both intimate and expansive. From the tenderness of “Soften” and the quiet beauty of “Dreaming” to the rhythmic vitality of “From the Water” and collaborations with Alex Serra and MARIAAMBIWASI, the album reveals an artist exploring new musical territory while remaining unmistakably herself.

Slánú carries the warmth of a homecoming and the openness of a new beginning. These are songs shaped by friendship, the natural world, love, and the resilience found in starting again, offering a deeply human listening experience that is as much about being alive as it is about healing.
