Heart Takes Flight

As you listen to ‘Heart Takes Flight’ you feel yourself pulled between worlds. The song opens with guitars and vocals that convey a yearning and an almost despairing sense of losing oneself in emotion. But you soon feel yourself pulled back to the physical world with powerful, compelling percussion that has a rhythm that calls you to dance. Before you realize what is happening, the vocals shift and weave into an almost celebration of that rhythm, where what may have felt like despair becomes celebration. It’s no wonder all of these feelings and worlds coexist in the profound depths of this song. Ram Dass says, ”The song represents the joy of life as a whole, complete with tragedy and triumph. Like so many of my life experiences, I have had to walk with sadness and joy on either side of me and find my happiness through experiencing both fully.”
