From Dust

From Dust was born from tragedy, healing, and realization. Traversing realms of grief, inspiration, loss, celebration, and in between, the layers of humanity are revealed through Jai-Jagdeesh’s most daring and introspective project to date. She confronts authority and the injustices she faced directly, using only finger snaps and layered vocals in “Take the Pedestals Down” and “Nobody Told Me”. As she leads us into the present moment, the musical layers swirl like an auditory take on Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” or Munch’s “The Scream,” both haunting and intricately beautiful. Guitars awash in reverb twist with the tails of violins to create a bed for her honest and intimate vocals. From Dust is a falling apart and a search for rebuilding, a bittersweet journey, and Jai-Jagdeesh expresses it with the most exquisite and intentional touch.
