Heart Shield Meditation

Meditation: Heart Shield Meditation

  • Mantra: Sat Narayan Wahe Guru
  • Posture:

Sit in Easy Pose - spine straight. Place the left hand in front of the heart center, palm facing the chest, 4 to 6 inches from the body. Keep the fingers stiff but not tight. The left forearm is parallel to the floor. The right arm is straight, resting on the right knee and the right hand is in gyan mudra. Chant Sat Narayan Wahe Guru Hari Narayan Sat Nam. Concentrate at the heart.

  • Eyes: Looking down at the nose with eyes closed
  • Teacher's Notes & More Information:

Meditate with open awareness as your heart center adjusts your feelings with the boundaries of the self.

As you concentrate on the shield of the hand, you may feel heat as powerful energy goes from the hand to the heart center. Keep the left hand stiff, which will, in combination with the mantra, activate the magnetic field, create a shield, and deliver nectar to the heart.

“I have given you something which is very sacred and sacred if you overdo it, you understand what that means? Overdrinking of nectar can sometime give a bad belly so just at times three to five to seven minutes.” – Yogi Bhajan
