MEDITATION INSTRUCTIONS

Connect With Your Inner Child & Call On Your Inner Power

The more comfortable we are with our vulnerability and innocence, the child living within us, the more we can connect to our strength and power. Our power means nothing without humility, and humility isn’t possible if we are fighting the child within us. When we can accept and care for our own vulnerability and innocence, then we can truly begin to mature into the fullness of who we are. Only when we can integrate our own inner child and mature from that integration can we access our power, grace and strength. This meditation brings these two polarities into balance, and one allows us to access the other. Without humility there is no power, without vulnerability there is no strength, and without Bhakti, or devotion, there is no Shakti, our power and creative capacity.

Mantras: Maha Mrityunjai & Adi Shakti

Complete Mantra: Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Uravarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukhiya Maamritaat

Translation: The vast vibration of creativity to the three-eyed one we honor and revere in the sweetness and fullness of life. The one who nourishes and brings life, like the cucumber on the vine from captivity - I am liberated.

Complete Mantra:

adi shakti adi shakti adi shakti namo namo
sarab shakti sarab shakti sarab shakti namo namo
pritham bhagvatee pritham bhagvatee pritham bhagvatee namo namo
kundalini mata shakti mata shakti namo namo

Translation:

To the original feminine power, I bow
To the all encompassing feminine creativity, I bow
To the one through which God creates, I bow
I bow To the creative flow of the Kundalini, the powerful feminine mother, I bow.

Meditation Instructions:

PART ONE: BHAKTI:

Posture: Come sitting in easy pose with your legs crossed.

Mudra: Bring both of your hands into Gyan Mudra, touching the thumbs and index fingers. The other three fingers are extended straight on both hands. Then cross the right hand over the left , bringing the tips of your thumbs and index fingers to touch in the center, creating a flower-like symbol. Bring this hand position at the level of your heart with your palms facing upwards.

Eyes: Eyes are closed.

Practice: Imagine yourself sitting on the top of a windy mountain in the Himalayas. Feel the rock of the mountain beneath you and the cold wind blowing around you. This is the birthplace of yoga, and the place where yogis have practiced for thousands of years. Feel yourself there, and meditate deeply. Just be – in total peace and tranquility – just be. Begin to chant the Maha Mrityunjai Mantra.

Time: 11 minutes.

PART TWO - SHAKTI:

Posture: Remain seated in easy pose.

Mudra: Relax your hands down to rest gently on your knees.

Eyes: Eyes are closed.

Practice: Continue to meditate with your eyes closed as you chant the Kundalini Bhakti Mantra, the mantra of the Divine Feminine. Listen to each line first, then sing it back listening to the sound of your own voice. Continue in this call and response style until the last minute when you and the recording sing in unison, feeling the full power of this sacred chant to the feminine creative force.

Time: 11 minutes.

To End: Inhale deeply, hold, and exhale. Repeat 1 more time. Relax.
