Vedya Kaur means "Princess of Divine Knowledge" in the Kundalini yoga tradition. Throughout her life Vedya has been a seeker of knowledge and enlightenment. She began teaching Sunday School at the age of 13. She continued her studies teaching preschool, and public elementary school, where she sought out yoga as a means for stress relief. She is devoted to sharing the gifts of yoga with the world.

An experienced yoga practitioner, Vedya took her first yoga class in 1976 and has actively practiced yoga since 1993. She is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500) in both Kundalini and Hatha yoga and has taught thousands of classes in the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Europe.

One of her most powerful tools for bringing ease into the body, mind and consciousness is iRest® Yoga Nidra. Vedya is an iRest Yoga Nidra certified teacher and continues to study with iRest founder, Richard Miller, Ph.D. IRest is a guided meditation that helps us welcome in whatever is present. Old emotions or limiting beliefs may float up for examination and release. Or you can just float into the sleep of the yogi- a healing meditative experience felt in the body.

Vedya integrates the sounds of crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, symphonic gong, chimes, and rain sticks into her classes, workshops and retreats. Her students begged her to make a CD that captured the essence of her unique iRest yoga nidra meditation classes. After two years in the studio she has now released Welcoming Everything- her first spoken word meditation CD. On it she offers a short 15 minute iRest practice, and a longer practice which includes the full 10 step iRest protocol.
