Ananda Yoga

Ananda Yoga injects Hatha Yoga with an extra dose of spirituality. It is said to reinforcement the natural effects of certain asana on your consciousness by using additional meditation techniques.

The beginner to Ananda Yoga will find the practice gentle, and it gets harder as a student progresses. Never aggressive, it is concerned with proper alignment, a state of relaxation, exploration of the inner world and the mind, and adaptation of asana to fit the needs of the practitioner.

It is known for its Energization Exercises and asana affirmations. A series of 39 energy control asana are employed as taught by Yogananda to increase focus and control life force energy. Each posture is paired with an affirmation designed to reinforce the asana’s natural effect on consciousness
