Guru Rattana lives in San Diego, California. She writes, and teaches self-empowerment workshops for men and women, as well as classes in Kundalini yoga & chakras. She received her Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and her MA from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. and Bologna, Italy. She has worked for the United Nations Environment Program. She has taught International Environment and Development Studies at Dartmouth College, MIT, and New Hampshire College and Philosophies of Life and History at U.S. International University (San Diego). She has been a lecturer at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (Palo Alto CA). After college, she studied French in Paris for one year.
Since the age of 26, Guru Rattana has followed a committed spiritual path. She studied Hatha yoga for 8 years, trained with Yogi Bhajan for 26 years, and has studied Tai Chi, Kung Fu and Chi Gong. She has taught International Environment and Development Studies at Dartmouth College, MIT, and New Hampshire College. In 1985 she moved to San Diego where she taught Philosophies of Life and History at the U.S. International University. She lived to Palo Alto between 1994-1998. There she was invited to teach two Kundalini yoga and meditation courses: Your Life Is In Your Chakras and Balancing Male-Female Polarities at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. She was also invited to teach Kundalini Yoga at Stanford University as part of the Health Improvement Program. She taught at the Khalsa Woman's Training Camp and the 3HO Summer Solstice Celebration in New Mexico.
Guru Rattana gives regular Kundalini yoga and chakra workshops and classes in San Diego, and occasional ones in Palo Alto, CA. Guru Rattana has given hundreds of workshops and classes on personal empowerment, featuring Kundalini yoga and meditation, which she has carefully prepared for videos and audio cassette production. As a pioneering teacher, she uniquely synthesizes the basic techniques from the science of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and incorporates principles from her practice of the internal martial arts like Tai Chi and Chi Gong.
Guru Rattana believes higher consciousness is a requirement to find solutions to all world problems. Her life is devoted to helping people move beyond hope and experience the ecstasy of Self and the Divine in all life, thus to make an unique contribution to the world.
