Better Together

Description

"Inspired by Osho, a contemporary mystic and purveyor of love, peace and meditation practice, this compilation from New Earth Records offers an exquisite atmosphere for yoga, deep contemplation and inner peace. The music features a mystical blend of Asian influences and earthy rhythms, with dancing flutes and swirls of sitar amongst tabla beats, guitar and joyous synth atmosphere. It's a great album for creating an environment conducive to healing work, striking a unique balance between being mellow and stimulating. Twenty eight musicians joined together to create the serene music of TEN THOUSAND BUDDHAS (the musicians are un-named on the album, however the overall sound of the album falls in line with the music of New Earth's artists), and the album was recorded live at the OSHO International Meditation Resort." -Music Design Magazine

He was a professor at the Sanskrit College in Raipur, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Jabalpur. As a passionate debater, he travelled widely in India, speaking to large audiences and challenging orthodox religious leaders in public debates. After nine years of teaching, he left the university to devote Himself entirely to the raising of human consciousness. Four times a year, he used to conduct an intense ten-day meditation camps. In the year 1970, he introduced his revolutionary meditation technique, dynamic Meditation. Since then this meditation technique has been used by psychotherapists, medical doctors, teachers and other professionals around the world.

In the 1970s, he settled in Mumbai. Osho, known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh then, began to initiate seekers into Neo-Sannyas or discipleship, a path of commitment to self-exploration and meditation which does not involve renouncing the world or anything else. Oshos understanding of Sannyas was a radical departure from the traditional Eastern viewpoint. He conducted meditation camps at Mount Abu in Rajasthan. He devoted his energies entirely to the rapidly expanding group of sannyasins around him.

In 1974, Osho moved to Pune where he establlished an ashrama. The visitors to the ashramas were offers a wide variety of therapy groups which combine Eastern meditation techniques with Western psychotherapy. Therapists from all over the world were attracted and by 1980 the international community gained a reputation as the worlds finest growth and therapy center.

Between 1981 to 1985, a model agricultural commune rose from the ruins of the central Oregonian high desert. Thousands of overgrazed and economically unviable acres were reclaimed. The city of Rajneeshpuram got incorporated and eventually provided services to 5,000 residents. Annual summer festivals were held which drew thousand of visitors from all over the world. No sooner, Rajneeshpuram becomes the largest spiritual community ever pioneered in America. Few days later, Osho ends three and one half years of self-imposed silence and resumed his public discourses each morning to thousands of seekers gathered in a meditation hall.

Osho began his world tour and visited Greece, Uruguay, Portugal, Jamaica and other places. He teached how to connect oneself to a Supreme Whole and become an authentic human being. He preached to lead a life passionately coupled with a deep sensitivity. In the year 1988, Osha introduced a revolutionary new meditation technique called The Mystic Rose.

Through his spiritual experiences and teachings, he made every disciple realize the unknown force hidden inside everyone. His teachings are enfolded in various books that he wrote. Osho developed new forms of active meditation. The best known is Dynamic Meditation. These meditation techniques were expected to lead the individual to overcome repression, lowering their personal inhibitions, develop a "state of emptiness", and attain enlightenment. Osho died in the year 1990 and his samadhi is in Chuang Tzu Auditorium.
