Dya Singh has single-handedly taken the traditional Sikh spiritual music of Punjab into the world music stage. He owes his skills of music to his parents.Dya learnt the Sikh songs and the art of singing from his father in the Sikh �gurudwaras� since the age of five. Today, his music is considered to be most soothing, uplifting and exhilarating to the listener. Dya Singh has twice been awarded 'Instrumentalist of the year' by SAMIA (South Australian Music Industry awards). Dya Singh heads one of the foremost 'world' music groups in Australia named after him. This group has twice been nominated 'World Music Group of the year' and won the title once.
