“Livelight” is a celestial collection of Kundalini chants that are intended for Yoga usage and meditation. “Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo” sets the tone of the album by inviting the heart to open using repetitions of the mantra accompanied by Akahdahmah’s percussive taps, some electronic patches and Pauline’s soulful singing inflections that are maternal, kind and penetrating. The duo’s focus on all of the tracks on this album is consciousness and the integration of body and soul using alchemistic composition. By chanting these mantras, Aykanna channels the internal source of abundance through the production of songs and chants that are melodic, vibrant and authentic.

Livelight includes three instrumental tracks on the CD. A perfect and complete tool for any yoga class. From uptempo intrumentals for vigorous movements to down tempo Savasana music. Aykanna thought of it all. Pauline Sukhdev’s attractive inflections are soft, sensual and nicely harmonized. The guitars, flutes and percussion are tucked in low under her voice which keeps the focus on the vibration of the mantras.

Pauline Sukhdev and Akahdahmah met in the late 90's and have been together on a medicine music adventure ever since. According to mystic sufi, Hazrat Inayat Khan, " Music was used for as healing for the mind, for the character, and the Soul because it is health of the Soul that brings health to the physical body."

Music has been a healing force in each of their lives and the birth of Aykanna gives them a channel through which they can share their harmonizing inspirational sound with the world.
Akahdahmah plays an array of hand percussion including the beautiful UDU clay drum of West African origins. The udu has a deep rich vibration that lays a tapestry for the soothing chants and acoustic guitar by Pauline Sukhdev.. Their debut CD as the sacred sound collective AYKANNA is now available. A selection of Kundalini Mantras which help cultivate the strength, focus and peace of mind that is required of us during these times.
