Meditations for Transformation: Experience & Project Your Original Self

This album contains an 11-minute and a 31-minute version of the meditation `Ram Ram Hari Ram` as it was taught in a class by Yogi Bhajan.

Meaning of the Mantra:

Ram: Raa is sun | Ma is moon. Together, they are Ram, God`s creativity.
Hari: Seed of God

In Yogi Bhajan`s Words:

"This is a special Naad that preceded in time the panj shabd. It has a distinct structure to each movement of the sound.

The first Ram invokes the creativity and blessing of the universal magnetic field and existence.
The second Ram consolidates and protects that magnetic field and creation.
The Third Ram completes and gives peace through the time of death.
The final recitations of `Hari` are the platform of the four corners that elevates you in consciousness as you journey across earth.

The first half of the mantra is a relationship in naad to the infinite and formless existence and nonexistence. The second half is guidance through the experiences of form and earth. Together the two parts of this mantra are a polarity that takes you beyond polarity to experience and project your original self." - Yogi Bhajan

`Meditations for Transformation,` the new series by Snatam Kaur is a beautiful offering to the yoga community. This CD contains and 11-minute and a 31-minute version of this special meditation. Within the packaging is a detailed description of the mudra to use in practicing the meditation accompanied by details of the benefits of doing the meditations. Snatam Kaur`s goal in creating these products was to offer tools for her audiences to use to bring a daily practice of meditaiton into their lives.

The basic guideline for these meditations is to try them out for at least 40 days. According to Yogi Bhajan, in 40 days you will break a bad habit, in 90 days you will create a new positive habit, and by 1000 days you will experience mastery. Create a sacred space in your home where you can practice on or both of these meditations.

Here are instructions for practicing this meditation:

Posture: Sit in easy pose.

Focus: Eyes are closed and focused at the third-eye point. 

Mantra: Har Har Har Har Gobinday - Har Har Har Har Mukanday - Har Har Har Har Udaray - Har Har Har Har Aparay - Har Har Har Har Hariang - Har Har Har Har Kariang - Har Har Har Har Nirnamay - Har Har Har Har Akamay

Mudra: Bend your elbows so that your hands are comfortable in front of you at approximately shoulder height.  Chant the mantra.  When you chant the word 'Har,' quickly open and close your hands as you pull the navel point in and up.  Repeat these actions each time you chant 'Har.'

Time: 11 minutes.

End: Inhale deeply, hold your breath.  Exhale and relax.
