Snatam Kaur's recording of Mul Mantra, also known as Ek Ong Kar, from Amrit Vela is set to be featured in the Back Up Plan starring Jennifer Lopez & Alex O' Loughlin. The film is a major Hollywood production from CBS Films and directed by Alan Poul.
This is the first time Snatam Kaur's music has been featured in a major Hollywood film. We encourage you all to see the film and let us know what you think!
In discussing with the producers of the film, it was of utmost importance that the music was featured in a respectful and uplifting manner. They would not allow me to view the section of the film but provided a synopsis. I won't give it away! They also assured me that they were fans of her music and had been exposed to it in a yoga class. We felt like their intentions were right so we went ahead with it.
The film will be released on April 23rd in theaters worldwide. The music is NOT featured in the clip below but enjoy the trailer:
