If there’s one thing you can count on at Spirit Voyage, its an abundance of good music to listen to. Our jobs require us to listen to everything that’s out there, old and new. (Twist our arms!) So it’s a fair question to ask, what are we listening to now?
We checked in with the Spirit Voyage team to ask them what albums they were playing on repeat on their Ipods today and which song in particular was inspiring them.
Here’s what the Spirit Voyage team had to say!
From Karan Khalsa, Intrepid CEO:
Rising Sun - Yoga Living Series
I put this on every morning when I'm getting ready for my day - I love how upbeat the tracks are and they are a great mix of artists from Snatam to Dave Stringer - great upbeat collection!
Liberation's Door by Snatam Kaur
The first track on the album, Servant of Peace, takes my breathe away every single time I listen to it! Snatam goes from her amazing deep meditative space to this amazing Sarah Mclachlan-esque superstar on that song - I love it!
I love this album because it's got a great range of styles, all of them a really current take on approaching mantra - I especially love the Aadays Tisai Aadays which reminds me of going to poetry readings in little alternative bars and coffee shops - beautiful and funky!
Silent Moonlight Meditation by Gurunam
Love how Gurunam's rich voice blends with Simrit's soaring vocals on this whole album. I love the song 'Like a Calm Lake" - his voice is so full of devotion, it makes my heart melt.
A Hundred Blessings by Mirabai Ceiba
I love the title track - so much sweetness brought to this Rumi poem- it just makes me want to take flight!
From Hargobind Khalsa, CEO Extraordinaire
Silent Moonlight Meditation by Gurunam Singh
I love the harmonies between Gurunam and Simrit. I love feeling like I’m chanting along with them!
Beautiful voice!
My wife Siri Om is getting ready to teach yoga on the lawn at the White House. She wanted to use the Be the Change song about Gandhi, which has a nice hip hop beat.
The Sweetest Nectar by Simrit Kaur
The whole album is excellent.
I love to listen to this. Amazing tabla player and singer.
From Jeanne Weierheiser, Marketing Guru:
Live in Concert by Snatam Kaur
My favorite is Ong Namo but I have Aad Guray Nameh on repeat right now.
Love Infinite Divine by Harnam Singh
I love “I Don’t Mind” but it is the Gobinday Mukunday that gets me up the hill when I run.
The Sweetest Nectar by Simrit Kaur
Ardas Bhaee because my kids chant the fast-paced Guru Guru Waheguru Guru Ram Das Guru at the end and I love to hear them chant!
Joy is Now by Guruganesha Singh
I love the Guru Ram Das Love Song and I love Guruganesha. I have to listen to this song at least once a day.
It clears the chakras and I love laying down with headphones on and just letting the music do its magic.
From Deva Singh Khalsa, Sales Maestro:
Seasons of the Soul by Prabhu Nam Kaur
I love this version of Sunia. It’s so relaxing.
Silent Moonlight Meditation by Gurunam Singh
This version of Jai Te Gung is off the chain!
Dhan Dhan is rocking and I love the Arti.
Into Grace by Guru Shabad Singh
I love the whole album.
Sadhana in the City by Sat Darshan Singh Khalsa
This is a great new sadhana album. I love the Wah Yantee.
From Ramdesh Kaur, Writing Wiz:
I can’t get over how much I love her voice. There are so many great tracks on here…Heal Me, Treasure of Bliss, Jai Te Gung, Har Singh Nar Singh, Re Man…I have to put the whole album on repeat.
Love Infinite Divine by Harnam Singh
I love the title track Love Infinite Divine, its just so relaxing and inspiring. I Don’t Mind reminds me of Here Comes the Sun in the way that it just makes everything ok when you’re upset. I really feel Guru Ram Das’s energy here. No Stranger is just so fun to listen to.
This is the album that started me along the path of a Kundalini yogini and I still love it. Dayndaa Day, Aakan Jor, Guru Ram Das, Sunia…it is a stunning album, and I never get tired of it. Snatam is so amazing!
Mantra Masala by Sada Sat Kaur
I could dance to Har Har Har Har Gobinday everyday! I love the energy!
Seasons of the Soul by Prabhu Nam Kaur
I adore the deep devotion in Prabhu Nam's voice. I could listen to Mera Man Loche constantly.
