Spirit Voyage’s 40 Day Global Sadhana: The Radiant Body

Duh-duh-dah! Announcing the next Spirit Voyage 40 Day Global Sadhana!  We will be working on our Radiant Bodies (also called the 10th Body) with a kriya AND a chanting meditation designed to support our radiance, good health, good luck, and good spirits! Building the Radiant Body helps us develop courage in our hearts. Amazing Kundalini yoga teacher Anne Novak has led us through the Kriya and meditation in this video.  This is a perfect opportunity to learn and master the Ajai Alai mantra, which is a part of the meditation.  We’ll have additional teachings from Nirinjan Kaur and Satkirin Kaur on this powerful mantra!  I’ll also be writing on the ten bodies, so you can learn to understand yourself more fully.  Kundalini yoga numerology is based on the ten bodies, and you will have the option of discovering more about yourself in the process of these 40 days!

Ajai Alai, which is the mantra chanted during the meditation is a powerful mantra that can lift you out of depression and anger.  About it, Yogi Bhajan said, “Whenever you are in trouble mentally or you are being attacked in one way or another chant these words and opposition will dissolve in your face.”  Written by Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, these powerful words are an ode to the Divine.

Ajai Alai – Invincible, Indestructible.
Abhai Abai – Fearless, Unchanging.

Abhoo Ajoo – Unformed, Unborn.

Anaas Akaas – Imperishable, Etheric

Aganj Abhanj – Unbreakable, Impenetrable.

Alakkh Abhakkh – Unseen, Unaffected.

Akaal Dy-aal – Undying, Merciful

Alaykh Abhaykh – Indescribable, Uncostumed.

Anaam Akaam – Nameless, Desireless.

Agaah Adhaah – Unfathomable, Incorruptible.

Anaathay Pramaathay – Unmastered, Destroyer.

Ajonee Amonee – Beyond birth, Beyond silence.

Na Raagay Na Rangay – Beyond love, Beyond color.

Na Roopay Na Raykhay – Beyond form, Beyond shape.

Akarmang Abharmang – Beyond karma, Beyond doubt.

Aganjay Alaykhay – Unconquerable, Indescribable.

    My neighbor and friend want to start the 40 day radiant body sadhana. I know it is over but we are wondering if you have each day recorded and stored somewhere and if so can we use them and where would we find them?

    Otherwise should we just go ahead and do 40 days of any videos we can find?

  4. Ah, the radiant body! Much of the time we use the mantra’s for the radiant body (Shakti Mantras) to overcome depression and to gain self mastery because they are so effective so quickly.

    In this age the Radiant Body is what Max Factor, People Magazine, Lady Gaga and Coco Chanel are all missing….inner attraction!
    What is attractive in us is not our covers, our makeup or our dress or undress. What is attractive is the radiance that comes from within our being. Our absolutely RADIANT body
    is a shining armor all around us. This subtle shining armor protects us and attracts grace and opportunities. The strength of this armor relies on your using your prana and breath
    every day. Breathe absolutely consciously.precede Recite the words of this Shakti Mantra AJAI ALAI………… with precision and with a very focused breath. It’s good in the evening when there are things to do…it’s pranic flow energizes the chakras, moving through the sushumna brings me great awareness.     I only received Day 1 email support but not Day 2 or Day 3, so I was wondering if we’re still getting a daily support in our mail boxes. Thank you!

    • Sat nam Mai, The daily support is on Facebook. The emails are sent out every few days as “updates” when there is more information up on the blog, etc to make sure that you don’t miss it. On Spirit Voyage’s Facebook page I give daily inspirational messages and there is a discussion board where you can interact with everyone else doing the sadhana. Blessings! ~Ramdesh

  10. Please can you provide rationale why we only balance on the left leg, and do not repeat on the other side. I am just curious. Sat Nam

    • Sat nam, I’m afraid I don’t know the rationale. Yogi Bhajan gave the kriya in this way. I’m sure its not an oversight and has to do with the flow of energy to the 10th body. Blessings! Ramdesh

  11. Can you recommend any modifications to the kriyas for pregnancy? I’m in my third tri, and am feeling these don’t feel just right to do right now.


    • Sat nam Trisha,

      Here’s Anne Novak’s advice (since she’s a mom and I’m not I thought you might like first hand info!) “This kriya is fine for the first trimester. After the first trimester, no breath of fire and after the second trimester the most conservative recommendation is to avoid lying on your back (there is some debate about this one). Also, balance is often tricky during pregnancy – just something to be aware of and not push it too much. The crow squats in the kriya are a particularly good exercise for pregnancy.” Your best bet is to be gentle with yourself. Try the meditation and the mantra, which should be just fine if you feel like the kriya isn’t right for your body at this time. Blessings, Ramdesh

  12. With the balance pose, do we repeat this on the other side?

Ok – started it today with all of you – hope I can sustain it along with finishing nabhi kriya (have 12 more day so or so and So Purkh – have 30 left on that) Wanted to do something with everyone’s energy – having to improvise just a bit – using the wall for help on the left ft. balance since I hurt it this month – fell into a gopher hole….may have broken the outer bone – but it is healing slowly with ice, heat and YL oils….Sat Nam and hoe to read lots of interesting results from others as we go along these 40 days…

    Clarify what is the process – we do the above class for the 40 day Radiant body Sadhana?
    Or we do our own and include for instance my favorite choice Sat Kirin hour long with Yogi Bhajan’s voice?
    Can someone give me an exact step by step for this process?

    • You can do this either way, Mona. The sadhana is to do the Radiant Body Kriya followed by the Meditation. You can do each pose between 1-3 minutes in the kriya (either following the video or doing it on your own). The meditation is between 11-22 minutes at your discretion. You can use any version you would like. This video is just to help people out. Blessings, Ramdesh

  17. Thank goodness i found out about this tonight, the 26th of July. How wonderful is spirit. This is such a perfect time for me to do this sadhana, and how wonderful to be doing it with so many others across the planet. I hope i have done what ever i have to do to be connected via email.

    1. How many minutes do I need to do in each position?
    2. the tips of your fingers touch between them in meditation?
    3, Which is the focus of attention in meditation?

    • 1) Each position is 1-3 minutes. 2) I don’t really understand this question. During the meditation, your thumbs do not touch. I hope that is what you are asking. 3.) Regarding the focus of attention, if you mean eye focus, it is unspecified. Blessings, Ramdesh

    1.Cual es el tiempo para cada postura?

  21. what time of day is this done? Will there be support at a certain time of day to do the sadhana with?

    • Sat nam Mavis, our global sadhanas are done at what time of day is convenient to you, although the amrit vela is suggested. Due to the Global nature of our sadhanas, there is no specific time. We will try to set up one or two “synchronized” meditations at a particular time. Otherwise, its just daily support!
