On Thursday, Ramdesh, Sat Darshan and I drove up to Waynesboro, PA to check out the site for the upcoming Spirit Fest location. Sat Darshan is taking over all management and logistics for Spirit Fest - she recently joined Spirit Voyage as our Director of Events, so I wanted to take her and Ramdesh up to the site to get started on their individual planning roles for the event. Very appropriately, we are finishing the work on production of our Live From Spirit Fest 2010 album, so we were listening to the tracks on the drive, setting the tone perfectly for our trip.
Ramdesh is going to be coordinating the events in the music and yoga hall, so we did a tour of this new space. The music hall is a beautiful wooden building with about 8000 square feet of floor space, soaring ceilings, incredible views, and enough space to easily fit the 600 yogis who will fill it. We could already see how amazing the energy would be in the room and could hear the mantras waiting to be sung!
She took tons of pictures for the sound crew to start working on just the right equipment to create an incredible temple of sound! We're planning the stage and all the little logistics that will go into making the event flow beautifully.
Here are photos of the Main Hall now - the tables will be removed, and yogis will fill the space!!

Sat Darshan is working on the room maps and logistics planning, so we went from building to building checking out all the different rooms. The cabins are really nice and cozy, with strong, comfortable wooden bunkbeds and nice mattresses. Everything is very new and very high quality. The bathrooms are simple and modern.
Here are photos inside the Heated Cabins. This is the same layout as the cabins in the Reich village, which are unheated cabins.
With registrations rolling in, we have already sold out of our Double Rooms with Private Bathrooms. The retreat center has opened up their luxury wing to us, so we now have 6 Luxury Double rooms that each have 2 Queen size beds, private bathrooms, wi-fi and a shared lounge.
Here is a photo of one of the Luxury Double Rooms:
We decided to set up an outdoor dining room in their outdoor theater so we can enjoy our meals while soaking up the beauty of the majestic mountains that will surround us. The chef recently hosted a Greenpeace retreat with all vegetarian and vegan menus, so we are excited to start building our menu with him. The kitchen is run on very strict Kosher guidelines, so for any of our participants who are Kosher, you will be free to eat our menu, and for those of you who aren't, you can feel doubly blessed for incorporating this tradition into our meals.
Downstairs from the main hall, there's a great space where we will set up our Yogi Lounge and Bazaar, and we will have spaces for healers to do treatments as well. This will be a great place to hang out between sets!
After spending a few hours at the site, we left so inspired and exhilarated to fill this incredible location with our Kundalini community! We hope you get to join us, it's going to be blissful!!
