Mid-Month PEACE Check-In

If you haven’t yet tuned in to read Nam Hari’s numerology report for this month, it’s about that time to get reading. Click here!  Her forecast for this month calls for a highly emotional month of October. What better way to keep peace at bay in our hearts and mind’s then through meditation and mantra.

She quotes in her report,  “Let there be peace on this Earth.” Although international peace day happened several weeks ago on September 21st, the experience of peace can be planted and harvested everyday. Peace on earth begins with each and everyone of us rediscovering the waters of peace that flow within ourselves.

As a Kundalini Yoga Community, let’s join as individuals and as a group consciousness to rediscover the peace in every moment of each day to calm the brewing storms of October.

Nam Hari suggested doing the “Whistling Ardas Bhaee Meditation” to help us during this month. If you are looking for more peaceful suggestions, here are a couple more meditations and mantras to assist you in calmly riding the waves of the month.

Meditation for a Neutral Mind from the book, The Mind: Its Projections and Multiple Facets. Using the mantra wa-hay-gu-roo in a monotone voice while focusing at the 3rd eye, you will cultivate the neutral space that only knows peace to help you through any situation you are facing.

Also, the mantra Sat Narayan or the Chotay Pad Mantra helps you connect to the water element and the flowing aspects of water. Since Nam Hari suggested we cool ourselves off with plenty of H20 this month, why not experience water in more ways then one.

The mantra Sat Narayan calls to the power of peace and reflects back to you the vibrations of peace that are within your very own soul. This mantra can be chanted anytime and anywhere during the month.  Learn to whisper the divine sounds from within just in case you are in a situation where you are not able to get to your mediation cushion, like when your stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway.

Full mantra:

Sat Narayan Waheguru Hari Narayan Sat Nam

Translation:

True Sustainer, Indescribable Wisdom, Creative Source, This is my True Identity.

Here are a few musician’s who can turn up the volume and  flow of peace for you for the rest of the month.

Sarah Hawker on her album Long Time Sun.  Using her banjo, Sarah calls to the flow of water with a grounding Appalachian mountain type feel.

Mata Mandir Singh brings the masculine flowing feel of peace with his version of Sat Narayan from his album Turn of the Age.

Mirabai Ceiba chants a beautiful 31 minute version of the shabd on their Sat Narayan album. This mantra is perfect for when you have set aside time to meditate in the morning each day.

In fact, mark your calendar and set time aside on October 18th for the full moon to help harness in the flow of peace before you go to bed. To meditate with the moon, sit in easy pose, hands at your heart center and begin chanting out loud or silently, Sat Narayan Hari Narayan Hari Narayan Sat Nam while basking in the light of the moon to find the clarity of mind required to experience your own peace.

You could also tune into the Dharampal Kaur’s song, “Peace on this Land” from her album The Essence, to remind yourself of the healing and peaceful power found on this earth when we call upon our “Ma” to help guide us during challenging times.

There are plenty of ways to experience peace the rest of the month inside and outside of the Kundalini Yoga tradition. Just the other day, as I was chanting the shabd Sat Narayan in my car on the way to teach a class, the peaceful tune of the children’s gospel song, “Peace Like a River” flooded through my consciousness and reminded me of the many ways to receive and feel peace. Find a child or rather tap-in and BE the child and start singing this happy song of peace.

I’ve got peace like a river

I’ve got peace like a river

I’ve got peace like a river in my soul

I’ve got peace like a river

I’ve got peace like a river

I’ve got peace like a river in my soul

I’ve got love like an ocean

I’ve got love like an ocean

I’ve got love like an ocean in my soul

I’ve got love like an ocean

I’ve got love like an ocean

I’ve got love like an ocean in my soul

I’ve got joy like a fountain

I’ve got joy like a fountain

I’ve got joy like a fountain in my soul

I’ve got joy like a fountain

I’ve got joy like a fountain

I’ve got joy like a fountain in my soul

I’ve got PEACE ,JOY  & LOVE  like a river
In my soul

Peace is Power. Cultivate the Peace within yourself and spread it around for the rest of this month and beyond.

Sat Nam!
