There is a powerful mantra in the Kundalini yoga tradition, passed down from Yogi Bhajan, that opens the primal force of creativity in your life. This mantra for creativity invokes the flow of creative force.
Being in the flow of the creative force isn’t an airy-fairy concept. It’s a real and tangible state of being. Compare in your mind’s eye the times when you have been inspired to create: whether to write, to draw, to dance, to sing, to create a business, to decorate your home, to have babies. Feel the way you felt then, excited, with all your senses heightened and your ability to give yourself over the creation of your dreams. Now think of times when you haven’t been inspired. Moments of writer’s block, trying to sing a song with your throat chakra closed up, being stumped about your business, unable to see the way forward. One is a moving river current; the next a dry river bed.
The mantra for creativity “Har Haray Hari Waheguru” is in four parts and represents the cycle of creative activity. Har represents the seed potential of Infinite Creativity. Haray represents the flow of the Creative Force. Hari represents the manifestation of the Creative Force. Waheguru is an expression of joy and wonder at the beauty of this process. It’s like saying “Idea, Flow, Here is it, Wow!” and translates to “All aspects of the Creator are Bliss.”
This mantra uses the very powerful creative flow to create a fast-moving, energetic river that washes away the debris of obnoxious situations in our life. It brings you through creative blocks and awakens within you your own creative potential.
Below are several versions of the mantra “Har Haray Hari Waheguru“. Find one that inspires you and resonates within you. The resonance of the individual version of the mantra will help you chant along with it. Usually 11 minutes is a good length of time to chant a mantra to receive a desired effect. Practicing the same mantra everyday for 40 days (or 90, 120, 1,000) will increase its effect on your subconscious mind and energetic field.
