Manish on tablas with Snatam and GuruGanesha at the Sacred Chant Retreat in Yelapa, Mexico
I was talking to Manish Vyas when we were walking the beach in Yelapa, Mexico at the Sacred Chant Retreat with Snatam Kaur. Manish is a really beautiful soul whose presence on this planet and in my world is a true blessing - his sweetness and wisdom are both endless.
Manish was telling me how touching it is when people write to him about his music with personal stories, and he mentioned that recently he has been getting more e-mails from parents talking about their children's great experiences with his music. Less than an hour later, I found a place to download my e-mail in the almost internet-free town that Yelapa is, and couldn't believe the subject of one of the e-mails.

In the amazing synchronicity that the universe showers upon us from time to time, and in particular when we open ourselves up to it's magic, I read the subject: "Effect of Manish Vyas on babies" and had a link to a video clip of my dear friend Ditta's beautiful daughter Amrita. She was in a state of baby distress and as soon as the music started playing, here eyes opened wide and she just instantly relaxed. It was so beautiful. Ditta says it works every single time she is crying.

The music they played is from Manish's new album, Prasad. Check it out here:

Prasad

I just received my new, much awaited new CD, Sattva by Manish, and played it this morning while watching a little 2 1/2 year old boy. He has been in a crying, irritable mode lately and while listening to music, he was very calm and soothed. We read my Aquarian Times together and had our own little kirtan while his mother slept.
You have a reputation for making the girls cry – well, you now are the baby whisperer!
My wife used to play Prasad and Sattva for my son since she was pregnant. She used to tell me that whenever she listened to those music, my son used to become calm and cool in her womb. Today, my son is 6 months old and still enjoying these music. Thanks to Manish for creating such a beautiful music.
I have always listened to these music in my joy n sorrow, which made me calm and subtle. My wife also listened the same, even in pregnancy it was like meditation. Now our 1 month old baby listens and enjoys too. Our favourite is ‘Shivoham’ from Sattva.
