This week's Kundalini Yoga Horoscope!
The early morning New Moon on Monday signals a time of new beginnings – a time to set dreams into motion and plans into place. Let go of what no longer serves you and re-define your vision for the future.
This Monday’s New Moon also signals the start of the Chinese New Year, this year being the Year of the Dragon. Luck, prosperity and good fortune can all be yours when you harness your creative energy and present yourself with confidence, grace, and courage.
On Tuesday, look out for odd and random events to dot the landscape. There are plenty of unwanted and unexpected people on the scene who are around to shake things up in a way that you did not anticipate.
Maintain balance between yourself and the unknown, between yourself and other characters, between yourself and the wild situations that you may find yourself in. The key now is to not react in the same kind of wild and crazy energy that you are being confronted with. Instead, maintain your center, find peace within yourself, and act from that point of stillness.
The Moon moves into Pisces on Wednesday morning, thus starting a two and a half-day cycle during which time you may feel as if your mind is out in the clouds. Your perspective is dreamy and there may be a tendency to retreat into fantasyland instead of to face reality.
If done in a healthy, conscious way, this could be exactly what the doctor ordered. A cathartic experience with music, dance, and/or art helps to express all the powerful emotions that have been building within you for the last four weeks. On the other hand, an escape toward “the dark side” and the tendency toward alcohol, drugs, overeating, and/or tobacco could lead you further down exactly that hole that you do not want to go.
Curb any negative and possible destructive tendencies this week by balancing the brain with good ole Kirtan Kriya. A steady 11-minute or 31-minute recitation of the mantra “sa ta na ma” with the corresponding mudra positions can help flip your mind from negative to positive in a jiffy.
Toward the end of the day on Thursday, the Moon turns void of course, suggesting a period of uncertainty and imbalance. Don’t make any decisions or do any significant planning after 9pm PST (12am EST). Best to just go to bed early.
Friday’s energy is dominated by the Moon in Aries, suggesting that the weekend is likely to be a lively one. People are going to be more bold, forthright, and aggressive than usual, so don’t be surprised if your buttons get pushed by more than one person in more than one kind of situation.
Friday’s late afternoon conjunction between Uranus and the Moon suggests that anything is possible – especially rebellious and out-of-the box actions that are likely to stir up the status quo. There is an aggressive and unexpected aspect to the astrological weather that is sure going to make for an interesting and lively Friday night – one that you will have absolutely no way to prepare for.
Look to Saturday for a little more stability in the mood, but not by much. With Mercury having just moved into Aquarius – a place he will be for the next two and a half weeks, your mind will be in the mood to rebel. You will be looking for new ideas, radical solutions, and uncommon ways to handle the usual situations.
Sunday is a great day for some hard core physical activity. Get your body moving! You will have plenty of physical energy at your disposal so you might as well channel it into something useful. Spend extra time at the gym, add an extra Kriya (how about Nabhi Kriya? YES!) to your morning sadhana, and join a soccer game or pickup basketball game this afternoon.
Use the evening hours to embark on a creative project and clean the house. Get the family involved in both of these expeditions if you can and support each other in your efforts. Meanwhile, if you feel excess anger creeping up to the surface, don’t be alarmed, just channel it into whatever project or sports activity you’ve got going.
