On January 12th, 2013 the Art of Living Foundation in Los Angeles is hosting Kundalini Rising, a 12 hour event that brings together some of the biggest names in the Kundalini yoga community to raise money for the students at Miri Piri Academy in India. Kundalini Rising will begin at 10:30am, with workshops throughout the day taught by GuruPrem Singh and Simran Kaur, Guru Singh, and Gurmukh. There will be a special 31 minute Kundalini yoga meditation led by Tommy Rosen and Kia Miller, with music by Aykanna. The evening program will include a a talk by Gabrielle Bernstein and Mastin Kipp called “Love and Miracles,” and a spectacular concert featuring Jai-Jagdeesh and Leonardo Har Prakash opening for Snatam Kaur.
Miri Piri Academy was founded by Yogi Bhajan to train the next generation of teachers and healers for the Aquarian Age. Academically rigorous, students not only graduate with a solid education but are also KRI certified as Kundalini yoga teachers. More than 70% of Miri Piri students receive some form of financial aid, and Kundalini Rising was created to help benefit the students there.
