We are in a sacred space together now as we go along. Your prayers and kindness and efforts have made something that is consolidated and rich. The time you have taken, whether on and off or daily, to jump into this pool of vibration has served all others who have participated or are still participating and the lives of those close to you. If you have not steadily practiced please jump back in again for the last ten days. This is the most powerful time to be part of this, to share in this energy.
I was really out of it and sick and not going to attend solstice this year. At the last moment I decided to go anyway. This year was surrounded in a lot of love that was really tangible for me, really obvious. There were certainly the kinks and fears of karmas and the accompanying growth of clarity that comes, but I was held in this Bhand Jammeeai vibration. We are carrying each other and the sound current is carrying us.
Gurunam and Ramdesh teaching "Honoring the Divine Feminine" at Winter Solstice, Gansham on drums
An hour after arriving to solstice Ramdesh Kaur and I led a workshop in Honoring the Divine Feminine. This was my first solstice blessing. The next night I was blessed to play in Hari Jiwan Singh's class and sang a sped up version of Bhand Jammeeai on guitar and slowed down on harmonium. On the 2nd day of tantric I got to sing a song called "Grace of God..Falling Deeper into you" with the entire tantric shelter. The women chanted "I am the Grace of God". The men chanted "I am in the grace of God" in response. There is a Grace of God meditation that Yogi Bhajan gave, for those unaware, using these words. When men do it they say "I am in the grace of God". Women say "I am the grace of God". With the post tantric energy we were blessed to deepen a little further. So many blessings this solstice. So much sharing in kindness. Such kind support from unexpected places and deepening awareness.
Thank you all for continuing on this process of opening to the Divine Feminine and honoring the soul that is the God that is you that deserves this honoring. Thank you for sharing this space and affecting my life and surroundings so profoundly. It is grace that draws us together in this way and grace that gives the experience. It is grace that empties us and grace that fills us up again. Thank you all for holding the space and letting go into the space and may you all feel the touch of grace and see the illumination of the Divines own face...
When Gurunam Singh graduated high school he was given a guitar and began composing simple songs. At 22 he found Yogi Bhajan and Sikh Dharma. He sang and played along with others and over time began leading chants in the early morning hours, before the rising of the sun. He spent lots of time in the solitude of his own home, and in the Sikh temple late at night, chanting to God and writing devotional songs. Gurunam's influences range from gospel, folk and country to classical Indian raag and traditional Sikh hymns to many of the current artists who sing devotional Hindu chants. He occasionally studied with some great ragi's such as Bhai Avtar Singh, from India, and Dya Singh from Australia. But his music is very simple. Anyone can chant along.
Here I was, feeling thwarted by norovirus – and just as I recover, I’m told that I can jump right back in for the most potent part of the sadhana! Happy new year!
Wahe Guru!
I felt your presence at solstice before your physical body arrived on site! Your powerful version of Jai Te Gung was pumping from the kitchen as sevadars got down to business one afternoon and I had to smile to myself – Gurunam’s spirit is here with us I though.
I have been feeling so blessed to be doing the Bhand Jamee-ai meditation along with you and Ramdesh each day. May not be able to stop after forty days thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!
Looking forward to having a long recording of “I am the Grace of God” – maybe that can happen at Sat Nam Fest – so I can chant along with you at home.
so much love and gratitude in my heart goes out to you,
