We are overjoyed to announce that the food in the main Sat Nam Fest Dining Hall will be prepared by Chef Shivanter Singh (aka John Barczak). The food will be served buffet style. Meal passes can be pre-purchased when you register online .
All foods served at Sat Nam Fest will be as organic/local as possible, with commitment to the sustainability of our foods and honoring our relationship to the planet. Our further commitment is to honor all food issues by serving vegetarian, vegan and wheat-free options at all meals. We believe all should have access to good delicious healthy foods. The oil of choice for all cooking is organic coconut oil.
Shivanter Singh (aka John Barczak) is a Certified health coach and food service professional with 30 plus years experience working with food as medicine. Focusing primarily on how to eat healthy food that tastes good and embraces the nutritional support of the mind, body and spirit is something Shivanter calls “Healthy Food Strategies.” He has owned multiple restaurants on Miami Beach, worked for the Archdiocese of Miami and the Miami Dolphins and was the General Manager of Omega Food Works for several years (www.eomega.org).
Trained through the Culinary/Restaurant Management Program at Joliet College, he also holds degrees from Columbia College Chicago, City University of New York and is currently in the global doctoral program at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Shivanter is a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, certified ESL instructor through Oxford Language School and is a certified NYS Elementary Education Instructor . Shivanter is also the founder of “the village” a non for profit center in Nosara, Costa Rica, showcasing work with teachers to help bring the challenges between the Tico community and the non-Tico community, “the village” offers teachings that will not only enhance the community, but also provides tools for developing healthy lifestyle strategies for all. “The Village” is funded by several for profit business that also are in alignment with providing good healthy choices in the area of healthy foods. The businesses are “Naked Foods Cr” (a raw, plant based food concept), “Jungle Juices,” fresh pressed juices delivered fresh everyday, “Love Butters” nut butters that are created with no added sugars or oils, and Shivanter Singh Cleanse, a 5-7 or month long cleansing program that incorporates Chinese Herbs, acid/alkaline diet, kundalini yoga, fresh juice program and health coaching through and after the program.
Shivanter Singh Cleanse is showcased at Blue Spirit Retreat Center Costa Rica, “The Village” Nosara, Costa Rica, and with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa’s yearly cleanse/womans retreat at the Omega Institute and also Shivanter teaches day cleanse retreats at Omega as well.
