You are cordially invited to the home of GuruGanesha Singh to learn from his teacher, Professor Paramjeet Singh, the ancient Indian traditional methodology of strengthening and training the vocal cords and breath to help unlock the fifth chakra and open your voice.
This intimate workshop in GuruGanesha’s ashram home is sure to be a life changing event for all attendees.
“Professor Paramjeet Singh teaches his art with love and care, and an open mind to whatever your level may be. His interest is to open your voice and bring you into the spirit and joy of kirtan. This is a wonderful experience!!!” ~Snatam Kaur
"Every time I spend 2 days with the Professor it is life changing. He is truly a Master of Classical Indian Kirtan and knows how to transmit his knowledge in the most efficacious way. He has developed a system of vocal training that is absolutely transformational regardless of your age. And to top it off, he lets us record everything which gives me at least 6 months of productive homework for every 2 days spent with him. I am deeply grateful to the Professor for sharing so openly and lovingly these wonderfully divine gifts!"
~ GuruGanesha Singh
The Professor teaches this 2,000+ year old system of music in a methodical step by step manner. Anyone who applies these teachings consistently will experience growth in their vocal and musical abilities not to mention profound inner growth. It’s really as simple as A, B, C.
The primary focus of the workshop is vocal. In the beginning of each day the Professor will lead students through a series of vocal exercises beginning in the lower octave, then moving to the middle octave and then finally when the voice is warm and open, reaching into the upper octave. Students can expect to learn some of basics of harmonium playing, but the primary emphasis is on developing the voice.
The next part of each day will be a participatory introduction into a classical Indian Raaga. The Professor’s teaching style is very inclusive, it is a call and response teaching style throughout the workshop. He will sing a particular melody of 4 or 5 notes and then the students will sing the same. This will go back and forth as he weaves the class through the musical melodies of a particular Raaga.
In the last segment of each day, the Professor introduces a Kirtan composition in a very methodical manner. Step by step, piece by piece until all of the students are singing the composition in perfect harmony. It is not only educational, but a very emotionally moving and inspiring experience.
The workshop is recorded so each student can bring the experience home into their daily practice. To register for this event visit http://www.spiritvoyage.com/event/2-Day-Classical-Indian-Kirtan-Workshop/Professor-Paramjeet-Singh--GuruGanesha-Singh/TIX-900803.aspx
