Hari Kirin Kaur Khalsa has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for twenty-five years,and recently become a KRI Certified Lead Teacher, which means she trainsstudents to become teachers. She teaches at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health,Schumacher College, the Antrim Girls Shelter, Access Shunia and sliding scaleclasses at the Union Mill in Peterborough, New Hampshire.   

Hari Kirin/ Joan Hanley has been a professional artistsince finishing her BFA at Hartford Art School in 1976. Her twenties were spentbetween NY, at the School of Visual Arts or Columbia University, and Hartford,CT, where she participated in Real Art Ways. During this time she met herspiritual mentor, Mahan Tantric, Yogi Bhajan. I studied and corresponded withhim until his passing. He gave me the name, Hari Kirin Kaur which means theCreative Feminine aspect of God and Kirin is a focused beam of light that cancut through the darkness.

Recent Public installations include Office Hours, 360 oilpaintings in the Dublin Ireland Immigration office, The Flag Project, acommunity expression of diversity in the State Legislature in Concord NH, AxisMundi, a 40 day meditation with local teens on a toxic site in Wilton NH andMud Mural, a collaborative organic Mural.

Hari Kirin has shown her paintings in one-woman shows atThe Mariposa Museum, NH and The Open Center NY and Group shows in the AttleboroMuseum MA and Liberty gallery Dublin Ireland. Her work has been reviewed inCIRCA, Resurgence and Aquarian Times. Recent lectures include the Museum ofFine Arts Boston, Hofstra University, and the One Earth conference.

She has been a visiting professor of Contemporary ArtHistory at Marlboro College VT, and an artist teacher for Vermont College andMaine College of Art MFA programs.

Hari Kirin lives in New Hampshire with writer ThomasMoore and their two children. In 2007 She took Sikh vows and changed her namefrom Joan Hanley to Hari Kirin Kaur Khalsa.
