Dave Dale, grew up in England and was inspired at an early age to play guitar and write songs. He began his professional career as a Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist in various Essex bands including 'The 24 Club’, 'The Romford Stompers' and 'The Escape Club'. Although all of these bands released obscure punk/pop singles, it was the songs of 'The 24 Club' that initially led Dave and his 2 co-writers, (Phil Harding & Mick Hanson), to relocate to New York for a new band project (Louise & the Creeps) with singer/model Louise Robey.
After writing and Recording new material in New York City, the band (now known as ‘the Famous Rays), released one album 'Ending Beginning', on U.K. label 'Blue Dot Records'.However, it was Dave's Recording skills that led to a chance meeting with CBS executive Danny Strick, who hired Dave as an engineer/producer at the 'CBS songs' recording studio.During the next seven years, Dave had the good fortune to work with many great Songwriters, Producers and Artists such as Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Meatloaf, Joan Jet, Dianne Warren, Desmond Child etc. When one of these Artists, (Billy Robertson of Polyrock) asked Dave to be the lead guitarist and producer for a new band that he was forming, Dave agreed and within six months they had offers from Columbia Records and Giant Records (with whom they signed a deal), releasing one self-titled album (Nine Ways to Sunday) in 1990.Dave continued to Write, Produce, Engineer and Mix at various studios in Manhatten including 'The Hit Factory', 'Unique' 'Sorcerer Sound' and 'Spa', until relocating to Los Angeles in the mid 90's.
Dave began Producing, writing, Recording and Mixing a Solo Album with Colin Hay (Men at Work), called 'Transcendental Highway'. This garnered a 'Best Album' nomination at the 1998 Australian music awards and included the song, 'I just don't think I'll ever get over you'. This song was later featured in the movie, 'Garden State' which went on to win the Grammy for 'Best Soundtrack Album' in 2005.Dave also recorded and Mixed Colin's second solo acoustic album 'Going Somewhere' and a re-formed 'Men At Work' album 'Live in Brazil' for Sony Records.Another production that Dave worked on during this period was 'Your Backyard' for Australian band, Brother and now includes a 'live' album, a 'Best of' album and their 2009 Trance inspired album 'One-Day'.Dave also co-wrote and recorded an album with Composer Chad Fisher (Scrubs, Garden State) entitled, 'Heads or Tales', which they released under the band name 'Audiomatic' and worked on numerous album productions for songwriter/producers Desmond Child and Rick Nowels. Mcloud's Sculpture exhibit at the Paulo Salvador Gallery in New York City, the Concept and Music for a short 16mm. experimental film entitled, 'Exit A Pendulum', (which went on to win an American 'Cine Eagle') and as Tour Manager for 'The Steve Vai band'.
It should be noted that since the early 90's in New York City, Dave's own Spiritual path (Yoga), led him to Produce, Record and Mix Donna Delory's much acclaimed Sanskrit 'Mantra' album, "The Lover And The Beloved". Since then, Dave has completed Donna's second 'Mantra' album 'Sanctuary' for Nutone records and Remixed two songs for her 2011 Remix Album.
