About Karan:
Karan is the primary owner of both Spirit Voyage Music and Spirit
Voyage Records. Her passion is for the artistic, and she is happiest when diving
into work on new music, art, or yoga.
Karan believes that there is a place for the sacred in every person’s
life and strives to find ways for Spirit Voyage to offer those to its customers.
Leaving the corporate international business world behind, Karan
joined Spirit Voyage to connect what she loves with what she does. At the end of
her first year of working with the company, she acquired a majority ownership position
and now her career is dedicated to sharing the healing sound current of music with
the planet through Spirit Voyage.
Karan entered into the Spirit Voyage universe upon returning
from her second 8-year stay in India. Working in the fast-paced international
business world of business process outsourcing in Bangalore, India, she was looking
to connect her business life with her inner spirit in a more meaningful way.
Her life-long friendship with Snatam Kaur and a profoundly inspired meeting with
GuruGanesha Singh converged to place her in the position of running Spirit Voyage,
for which she feels deeply honored and miraculously blessed.
Now her career is dedicated to sharing the healing sound current of music with the
planet through Spirit Voyage.

Karan's Favorites :
I've never been one to have favorite album - my favorites have always been individual
songs, which I pull together from the world of options available and crate my own
unique mixes and label them by mood or time of day, so that I can easily play something
perfectly suited for what I need when I turn on the music.
I recently decided I should make some collections of music for our customers on
that theme, and came up with two compilations that I absolutely love.
Yoga Living Series:
Rising Sun
Spirit Voyage Artists
This is a collection of mantras and bhajans that have great energy. They're not
so fast-paced as to be dance beats, although I have to admit I find myself dancing
away when I listen to this collection, but for me, they are the perfect way to start
the day. I play this collection while I'm getting ready every morning, and I feel
so inspired and awake and aware when I start working that I think I'm twice as productive.
Here are the tracks:
Mul Mantra by Snatam Kaur 7:55
Sat Gur Prasad by Sat Kartar 11:19
Hay Gobinda by Sada Sat Kaur 7:50
Sat Siri, Siri Akal by GuruGanesha 7:35
Ganapati by Girish 6:09
Anand by Snatam Kaur 7:07
Aja Uttama by Dave Stringer 5:48
Guru Dev Mata by Sat Purkh 7:57
Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo by Thomas Barquee 12:27
A funny story about the first track: The Mul Mantra on this CD is from Anand by Snatam Kaur, an album that we really struggled to
agree on the track order. My favorite track on that album was Mul Mantra, and I
always felt that it would be side-lined by being the last track on the album. When
I decided to do these compilations, I knew I'd put the track first so that I could
get as many people out there to hear it and fall in love with it as I am. The fast
finger-picking guitar on it is so exceptional, I sometimes have to listen to it
twice before I go on to the rest of the album.

Meditative Moon
Spirit Voyage Artists
When I see the moon in a clear sky, I feel sublimely at peace. This album was
created in that mood and is filled with gentle soothing chants that wrap you in
a feeling of gentle comfort. Since it's gotten cold, I'll put this album on at night
and curl up in a warm blanket with a hot cup of tea with a good book. It's almost
gentle enough to put me to sleep, but the music has so much depth that I get drawn
into it and find myself singing along.
The tracks on this album are:
Guru Ram Das by Mirabai Ceiba 12:54
Ek Ong Kar by Snatam Kaur 8:40
Gunghata by Dave Stringer 6:27
Om Namo Bhagavate by Thomas Barquee 6:43
Wah Yantee by Amrit Kirtan 11:04
Ma by GuruGanesha Singh 10:43
Tumi Bhaja Re Mana by Manish Vyas 8:07
Jap Man by Sat Kartar 7:57
